Final Prototype

We reached our finish line with the production of a working table-top prototype of speed-star that allowed us to not only showcase our vision in creating an easily accessible play structure, but also demonstrate our transmission design for our gameboard and user interface with more detail.

We hope that this will pave the way to a larger prototype that will drive our mission further towards making playgrounds inclusive and accessible spaces for children of all abilities.

Prototype Progression

Road Blocks

"Road Work ahead?......I sure hope it does....."

While our road eventually raced to the finish line, we did encounter many a pot-hole along the way

Tunneling to the Finish Line

Our first road-block arose when we created our first cardboard prototype and realized that we had a floating middle section from our track. To fix this issue, we added in the finish line and tunnel pieces to secretly hold the two floating pieces in place.

 Mission

All kids deserve an equal opportunity to experience play and engage with their peers when on a playground, and we hope that our structure empowers kids to see themselves as strong individuals....

Or, perhaps, one could say
