Deanna Duqmaq

I am a mechanical engineering student committed to being a leader in solving the world's most difficult and challenging problems. While so much in this world is unknown, I have always found engineering to be the lens in which we look through to find the answer. As a soon to be recent graduate, I will always be inspired by Columbia's motto to engineer for humanity. I hope to be part of designing a stronger and more sustainable future for the upcoming generations.

Sophia Ladyzhets

Mechanical engineering student committed to solving global challenges with sustainable technology.

I have experience with surgical robotics, research mentorship, and working on cars for Formula SAE competitions. I am always looking for new problems to solve and ideas to bring to life.

Luis Pupo

Mechanical engineering student driven by curiosity, exploration, and innovation to solve problems and take on challenges with interests in manufacturing, design, aeronautics, and electronics.

I have experience working with airplanes through AIAA, racecar exhaust through FSAE, and various manufacturing skills through my engineering coursework.

Andrew Song

I'm a mechanical engineer interested in anything and everything space related and love learning more through other miscellaneous projects. My engineering expertise involves solving physics problems analytically or mathematically through simulation and using first principles I've learned in my course work.

I've worked on designing airplanes in AIAA and internships at NASA JPL, science payloads for zero-gravity experiments in space from CSI projects, and physics simulation/analysis projects in my research at JPL and the Creative Machines Lab at Columbia!

It is said that the physicist asks the question "Why?", while the engineer askes "How?". As a double major in both physics and engineering, I ask both.

I've always loved the creativity that pervades the field of engineering and I love working with my hands to create almost anything I could imagine. I've especially been passionate about how engineering can not only benefit society, but it also holds the power of compassion toward humanity as we work to build a stronger and brighter future.

My past research has involved a variety of fields in physics, including plasma physics, high-energy physics, and quantum chemical physics and I look forward to pursuing a future exploring my mechanical engineering skills upon graduation.
